Transparency of costs

Clients are informed of the method of billing for legal services and the estimated costs for their specific matter prior to the commencement of our engagement.

Legal fees in Slovenia are billed in accordance with the Bar Tariff, adopted by the Bar Association of Slovenia. The Bar Tariff sets out the method of valuation, billing, and payment for legal services and disbursements that clients are required to pay to their attorney.

An attorney and client may agree in writing, or by contract, on a different method of billing for legal services (for example: on an hourly rate basis), provided that such agreement is in accordance with the Attorneys Act and the Bar Tariff Act.

The value of a service is determined on the basis of various factors, such as the professional complexity, responsibility, value of the matter in dispute, professional expertise, time required to carry out the work, and the number of persons represented.

Legal fees include the full cost of the service and disbursements, increased by value added tax (VAT).
